"The blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice..."
I don't particularly believe that. I'm considered light-skinned and I always caught heat for that. I always disliked the color jokes I have recieved during the years. I don't understand the issue my people have with pigment. When I was younger I was always asked if I was biracial, but no, no...I'm not. I do have Native American and Portuguese in me, but it's not that deep.
Anyway, majority of my family members mother's side are a nice brown complexion with very limited light skinned people. I think there is only about 5 or 6 people on my mother's side (including myself). Now my father's side is the total opposite. Everyone on his side, that I've met has been light skinned. My grandfather looks like an old Terrence Howard, green eyes and all, lol.
Growing up with my mother's family, I was called "not black enough" by other cousins (haters)and was always being made fun of because of my skin tone.
Like, I'm not even that light skinned...sex teasing.
I think that everyone's "juice" is just as sweet as the next person.
One of my ex's said that he only dates, short, light-skinned girls. I think that's kinda lame. But, if that's what he likes, I can't knock him.
I don't color makes one look attractive. I think it's all about how one carries themselves really makes someone look good. I think Tyrese and Chris Brown are both good looking men. Chris is light (and young), Tyrese is dark. Both kinda sexy. In my opinion.
But I have an issue with Chris Brown, but I'll save that for another blog post.
Until next time...Peace & Love
:)
